Jacob Bradley Regier

It is with profound sadness that we share that our sweet Jacob passed away last night at 8:50 pm. We are so grateful to have known him and loved him for these past seven weeks. We take comfort in knowing that he is with his four older siblings and our Lord in heaven.

We are in the process of planning a service for Jacob and will let you know the details soon.

We are deeply saddened at the loss of Jacob and we continue to pray for healing of your broken hearts as well as for the continued good progress of Sawyer. May God give you His strength.

I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted his white sails with a golden light, and as he disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, “He is gone”.

But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, “He is gone” a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, “Here he comes!”

We deeply, deeply grieve with you today and yet continue to celebrate God's provision for Sawyer's health. When I read your post this morning (not long after you wrote it) and told Justin, Zachary (age 4) said, "Did God want Jacob to come be with Him?".

In 1 Corinthians it tell us the "Now we know in part, then [when Christ returns] we shall know fully". We await the day with you when you will know fully the joy of parenting all six of your children!

We will see you soon.

No words can bring comfort in this time I know. Having just left the NICU so recently with Asher, your loss hits me hard and very deeply. I don't begin to understand the plans of the Lord in hard times like this. I am praying for your hearts in the loss of Jacob and yet joy over Sawyer. May you hold each other closely in your grief and not let Satan divide you over it.

I became aware of your family via Kathy Jacobitz (Steph H) I will ask for His Nearness in this moment and for upcoming days for your family.

Some sweet friends are in a similar stretch and seeking daily to believe and receive God's reassurance in this time of loss and (somehow,)also gain.

Dear Arja & Brad -- It is with deep sorrow that I acknowledge the loss of your dear sweet Jacob. He was such a valliant warrior in his too brief life. He surely has all he needs in the playground he is enjoying today. I pray that God comforts & strengthens you in the days & weeks ahead. I pray that you would lean into His mercy & not on your own understandings as you mourn the loss of Jacob. Know that you are loved -- Cinda Columb

Brad & Arja,
Our hearts go out to you and we've been praying and will continue to pray for the Lord's peace that "passes all understanding". We just started following your blog when Sharol Copeland told us. I forwared it on to Kev. We were crushed when we saw the sad news and are grieving for you.
